Formulation and Development of Metoprolol Tartrate Bucco-Adhesive Films
Main Article Content
Abstract
The study investigates the buccal drug delivery system of Metoprolol tartrate. Buccal adhesive films were prepared via film casting and characterized through drug release studies, skin permeation studies, and analysis of drug-excipient interactions. The films, each with a surface area of 3.14 cm² containing 12.5 mg of Metoprolol tartrate, were created using various polymers, including Carbopol 934 P, Eudragit RL100, PVP, HPMC K15M, and Na CMC, with different permeation enhancers like DMSO, Tween 60, and castor oil.
